This culture
developed and maintained

disappeared leaving behind only its monuments. |

It is true that Teotihuacan was a sacred place for the Aztecs.
They were the ones that named it Teotihuacan, which means “where the men turn into gods.”
However Teotihuacan became one of the most important
cities of the classic period in Mesoamerica. It also played a very strong
influence into many other cultures.
